Dr. Carol Summe has been in the exclusive practice of orthodontics in Louisville, Kentucky since 1982. She received her undergraduate education from Xavier University in Cincinnati and then attended the University of Louisville Dental School where she graduated at the top of her class. After graduation, Dr. Summe completed a two-year residency in orthodontics at the University of Louisville which completed the requirements established by the American Dental Association to become certified as a Specialist in Orthodontics.
Dr. Summe is board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics and attends numerous orthodontic education programs every year to be able to provide state-of-the-art orthodontic treatment for her patients and to remain at the forefront of contemporary orthodontics. She is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Southern Association of Orthodontists, Kentucky Association of Orthodontists, Louisville Dental Society, Kentucky Dental Association, American Dental Association and the Kentucky Association of Women Dentists. She is also the co-founder of the Kentucky Chapter of Smiles Change Lives, a non-profit organization that provides free orthodontic treatment to low-income children.
Dr. Summe and her husband, Dr. Kevin Walsh, are the parents of two boys, Spencer and Emerson Walsh. In her free time, Dr. Summe enjoys spending time with her family, swimming, playing tennis and fitness activities.
