Dr. Carol Summe
Dr. Carol Summe has been in the exclusive practice of orthodontics in Louisville, Kentucky for over 30 years. She received her undergraduate education from Xavier University in Cincinnati and then attended the University of Louisville Dental School, where she graduated at the top of her class. After graduation, Dr. Summe completed a two-year residency in orthodontics at the University of Louisville which completed the requirements established by the American Dental Association to become certified as a Specialist in Orthodontics.
Dr. Summe attends numerous orthodontic education programs every year to be able to provide state-of-the-art orthodontic treatment for her patients and to remain at the forefront of contemporary orthodontics. In order to stay up to date on the latest advancements in her field, Dr. Summe is an active member of numerous prestigious professional organizations, including the American Association of Orthodontists, Southern Association of Orthodontists, Kentucky Association of Orthodontists, Kentucky Dental Association, American Dental Association and the Kentucky Association of Women Dentists. She is also the co-founder of the Kentucky Chapter of Smiles Change Lives, a non-profit organization that provides free orthodontic treatment to low-income children.
Dr. Summe and her husband, Dr. Kevin Walsh, are the parents of two sons, Spencer and Emerson. In her free time, Dr. Summe enjoys spending time with her family, swimming, hiking, healthy eating, fitness activities and yoga.
